Original Watercolor Art On 11" x 14" Cold Press Paper By Romani American Artist J.A. George AKA; The GYPSY
Along the banks of a still creek upon a mid-summer day you find the time to stop and rest awhile. The tadpoles flit to and fro in the quiet shallows while water bugs dance upon the surface. A Dragonfly skims across the water hovering for a moment and then moving on to hover further down the embankment. A Robin argues with a Blue Jay as a Squirrel watches you with intense curiosity. And as you rest along the side of this still creek you smile because you know you are not alone....
This painting was inspired by an actual day and spot I discovered when I went walking along the Shunganunga Creek during the Covid-19 Pandemic Quarantine in Topeka, Kansas.
I am a Romani American Artist. My name is J.A. George but you may call me, as my friends do, The GYPSY. As a former Zookeeper and lifelong lover of nature I have a unique perspective on Animals and Conservation. When I create my art, whether Animal or Landscape or both combined, I seek not to create reality or fantasy but to find the spirit of what I am painting. Seeking out the spirit of my subject creates a deeper meaning in my paintings beyond the ordinary. From my Artist Alley Studio and Gallery I paint what is not seen and have revealed those unseen elements in museum and zoo exhibits, art shows and art lessons to aspiring artists for more than 50 years.
